The brief was to construct a temporary portacom village in SKY TV’s rear carpark to enable SKY to present the 8 additional dedicated channels of London Olympics Games coverage. The space needs where approx. 450m2 of temporary building area to house the technical equipment and 80 staff.
The project required a high degree of technical services coordination and integration. The broadcast process requires CAR and large server rooms essential for content management and transmission. These operations can’t fail and required significant Mechanical cooling and UPS power requirements. All services had to be backed-up and have contingency options to maintain broadcast transmission.
